The Ring of Kerry is a magestic panoramic 110-mile daytrip that features some of Ireland's most magnificent scenery and villages. These include Killarney, Kenmare, Sneem, Caherciveen, Glenbeigh and of course Killorglin (home of the Puck Fair every August), and beaches at Kells and Caherdaniel.
The scenery along the Ring of Kerry coastline is quite spectacular and meanders between historic and geographic - from the Lakes of Killarney, over Ladies View to the Black Valley, onwards toward Sneem, Kenmare (a culinary mecca) and Caherdaniel with its beautiful beaches and hostelries skirted by Derrynane, home of the Irish emancipator Daniel O Connell, then into Waterville with its majestic Golf Course played on by some of the world's finest golfers.
Your journey will then take you into Caherciveen and its annual horseraces at Bi na Ti, a musical village to be enjoyed at leisure before travelling on to Glenbeigh and the beach at Rossbeigh and into Killorglin on the River Laune, a fishermans paradise and ultimately terminating at the Ring of Kerry's starting point in Killarney Town.
The Ring of Kerry is a 'world-renowned' journey that will leave you awestruck. The views, the mountain ranges of MacGillicuddy Reeks, Carrauntouhill and the Purple Mountains, the vista out to sea, the food, fishing, boating, hiking and cycling are all there to tempt you.
Railway Hostel, Glena House B&B and LimeCourt Guesthouse are all budget accommodation providers located along the route. Tours and daytrips for the Ring of Kerry can be organised for guests on coaches, bicycle or car hire. The trip will form part of your visit to this panoramic part of Ireland, which has featured in many famous books and films, and provided accommodation to hundreds of millions of travellers since the 1800's.
